The Danish founder of Trustpilot hailed the “smart money” in London’s technology scene yesterday as his company announced plans for a £1 billion float in the city. Peter Mühlmann said that a listing in London was “the right thing for us” and that “many good listings” from other tech companies would follow. Trustpilot is the first large company from the European Union to announce plans to float in London this year. In doing so, it has provided a boost to the city’s status after it lost share-trading and derivatives business to Amsterdam, Paris and Frankfurt in the weeks after the Brexit transition period ended on December 31.
