Sweeping 578 mile snow bomb to dump 23 inches in icy blast of wintry weather
The icy snow bomb is set to stretch from Oban, in Scotland, down to Plymouth in the first week of March. New maps from WXCharts, which uses MetDesk data, show a large purple mass sweeping across the UK. The colour indicates the country will be plunged into below zero temperatures, with some regions seeing as much as 23 inches of snow being dumped on the ground. Weather maps forecast the weather will make a chilly turn at about 6pm on March 5.

The Met has launched a murder investigation after a man in his 40s was fatally stabbed in the centre of Wimbledon. Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance rushed to reports of a stabbing on The Broadway, Wimbledon, at 12.37am on Sunday, February 22. A man was found with stab wounds and treated at the scene by paramedics. Despite their efforts, he died shortly after their arrival.
